Topeka Family & Community Activities
We value our connections and share a strong sense of trust in and belonging with one another; even if we never have met. There are so many ways to connect with our community. We not only come together for worship, but we look for ways to build relationships along our discipleship journey. We invite you to share with us in these community building activities:
Bags to Bench Challenge
Plastic Bag Recycling Project
Plastic Bag Recycling Project
As a denomination we believe in Sacredness of Creation and encourage disciples and congregations to seek out ways in which they can nurture God’s creation.
Our Bags to Bench recycling project is an initiative that aims to repurpose plastic bags and prevent them from ending up in landfills or waterways.
This project provides a practical way to contribute to the community and raise awareness about the importance of recycling and reducing plastic waste. Together, we can work towards creating a cleaner and healthier environment for current and future generations.

Trex sponsors a plastic collection challenge in which a group or organization that collects one thousand pounds of plastic film receives a free “polylumber” bench from Trex in appreciation for the community’s recycling efforts.
Our goal is to place a bench, hopefully more than one, in our Community Peace Garden.
Consider joining the Topeka Community of Christ congregation in this recycling project.
