Welcome to Topeka Community of Christ

If you're looking for a church in Topeka to attend, there are certainly plenty to choose from. However, there are several reasons why you should consider checking out Topeka Community of Christ.
As our name suggests, Topeka Community of Christ is all about building a sense of community among its members. In a world where individualism is often celebrated, the idea of a community can seem outdated or even unnecessary. However, the gospel of Jesus Christ emphasizes the importance of community and its role in the spiritual development of individuals.
By sharing our lives with others, we create a space where we can be vulnerable and open to God's grace. The church is a welcoming and inclusive place, where everyone is encouraged to participate and get involved. As disciples of Christ, we are all called to conform our lives to his by living in loving community with others, seeing Jesus in the faces of the least of God’s children, and serving those whom the world has forgotten. A key aspect of Topeka Community of Christ is its focus on Jesus. The church believes that Jesus is at the center of everything we do, and we strive to follow his example in our daily lives. It is through our actions that we demonstrate our faith and express our devotion to God. Jesus himself modeled this type of sacrificial love throughout his ministry, often choosing to spend time with the marginalized and forgotten members of society.
As disciples, we are challenged to follow this example and to see Jesus in the faces of those around us. This means recognizing the inherent dignity and worth of every person, regardless of their background or circumstances. It also means reaching out to those who are hurting, lonely, or in need of help. |

Christ’s Mission – Our Mission. Topeka Community of Christ is a church that values progressive Christian ideals such as social justice and equality. Our church is committed to creating a more just and peaceful world, and works to promote these values both locally and globally.
Our Enduring Principles define the essence, heart, and soul of our faith community. They describe the personality of our church as expressed throughout the world. We do our best to uphold these principles (values, concepts, themes) as a faithful response to our heritage and our continuing experience with God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit.
Community of Christ has eight sacraments, most of which are celebrated in worship experiences at appropriate times. With the exception of Ordination, you do not need to be a member of Community of Christ to receive these sacraments.
Community of Christ practices full inclusion of LGBTQIA+ members and friends and full access to all the sacraments of the church including ordination and marriage.
Topeka Community of Christ does not have any paid staff. Our ministry is provided by generous disciples who share their time, talents, treasure and testimonies to bring you this ministry.
